The Math and Science Academy is designed to give students the opportunities, direction and challenge to best use their talents in the areas of Math and Sciences.  Students in this program will be challenged to the highest level by promoting students to conceptually understand and apply academic knowledge to real-world situations.  Through a rigorous schedule of Honors and AP coursework, Cathedral High School’s Math and Science Program aims to inspire and prepare students to enter into top tier colleges with focus on majors and careers in STEM-related fields.   We achieve this by exposing and guiding our students through  relevant field trips, speakers and  summer programs at schools like UPENN, Stanford, UCLA, MIT, Johns Hopkins and Duke.

Due to the rigorous coursework, students are accepted into the program based on entrance exam scores, placement tests, and teacher recommendations. Requirements: Students must maintain a 3.0 overall GPA to remain in the Academy. Students must maintain a minimum of a C grade at the end of each semester. D and F grades will automatically disqualify students from the academy. The path for math and science classes include: Algebra II Honors, Pre-Calculus Honors, AP Calculus AB, AP Calculus BC, Honors Biology, AP Chemistry, AP Physics, AP Biology
